Taking the burden out of asset management and tracking

In today’s fast-paced technological environment, data makes up most of all business processes. But capturing data correctly can be tricky, thanks to the different “silos” that often exist in businesses, such as the procurement, IT, management and legal departments. Not to mention the fact that it is utterly time-consuming and prone to human error when capturing data manually. The REAM solution is a secure asset tracking and inventory management service, which allows all departments to see one holistic picture.

Streamlining all sectors

Incorporating the best technologies with a decade of experience, REAM (Rental Manager and Enterprise Asset Management Service) delivers sustainable and cost-effective asset tracking and management services. RentWorks provides a platform with a fully customisable dashboard that is accessible to all RentWorks customers via a secure web-portal user interface.

Customers can access live, real-time data, as well as historical data. The system offers best practice guidelines on items or areas requiring attention, such as:

  • Asset classes
  • Contract expiry
  • Contracts and contract numbers
  • Rentals due
  • Extract reports

The asset data solution has been designed for non-sophisticated integration with customers’ existing data systems and processes. In other words, companies won’t have to learn how to use a new tool if they prefer their existing approach – they can simply feed their existing information into the online system.

Offering you peace of mind

All RentWorks customers have automatically been granted access to the rental contracts’ online portal. And its for FREE! But for those looking to upgrade to enterprise asset lifecycle management and tracking, including the management of non-rented assets, additional value-added services are available. These services include Absolute Data, Device and Security products which remotely secure computer user data by freezing or wiping data from the rented device. The Absolute Software security platform is embedded in all computer devices and provides the only persistent technology for device and information security management.

One of our customer’s in the financial services industry using our REAM service has provided positive feedback, indicating that there could be serious implications should their classified information  end up in the wrong hands through theft or loss of IT assets such as laptops.. They have also conceded that they  have complete peace of mind that information on their assets are protected at all times. If a machine is lost, stolen, or even just unaccounted for, via the REAM capability they are able to wipe all data remotely no matter where it is in the world.

Assets can thus be remotely managed and secured to ensure – and prove – appropriate endpoint IT compliance processes are properly implemented and enforced. Any changes made to the user and location information is automatically recorded in an auditable manner, capturing who performed the change, as well as when the change was made. Customers can also do automated live asset verification against their rental contracts whenever they need to, which makes for a more efficient and easy auditing process. This improves reporting and governance, as well as assisting with insurance claims and the associated rented asset.

REAM on the go

Too further add to the customer experience, REAM can now be accessed from customers’ mobile phones. The NAM SCAN app is available for download on Google Play and Apple app stores. The NAM SCAN app also has an online version accessible from REAM under the information (i) icon on the log-in page.  Assets that don’t connect to the internet can be scanned manually with the app, which allows customers to update their asset registers.

The customer’s ability to dynamically monitor their asset environment means real-time information for decision making. The business can ensure that assets are used for their intended purpose, used in the location intended, and by the person or department that needs to use the asset. This, in turn, translates into the best possible return on investment.
